Research
Neeraj Jawahirani worked with the PULSE Lab on scientific visualization of ocean model output. The main contribution was to ParticleViz, the lab's web-based tool for visualizing Lagrangian particle trajectories: Neeraj fixed a line-shape rendering error and extended the output-file handling for NetCDF and Zarr formats (PR #28, merged April 2025). Later pull requests continued the work on native Zarr input support.
Background
Neeraj earned an M.S. in Computer Science with a Data Science focus at Florida State University (2023–2025), after a B.E. in Information Technology from D Y Patil International University, Pune (2018–2022). Neeraj now works at the Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies (COAPS) at FSU on web applications and data engineering.
Software and methods
Python, NetCDF and Zarr data formats, web visualization of particle trajectories, and data engineering for ocean and atmospheric datasets.
