Biography

About

I am a Ph.D. student in Scientific Computing at Florida State University and a member of the PULSE Lab. My research focuses on developing computational methods that combine artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and modern scientific software to address challenges in computational biology and genomics.

My current interests include comparative genomics, AI-driven biological analysis, scientific machine learning, large language models for scientific discovery, foundation models for biology, and reproducible computational pipelines. I enjoy building scalable software workflows that help researchers analyze large biological datasets while making advanced computational tools more accessible and reproducible.

Research

My research explores the intersection of artificial intelligence and computational biology, with an emphasis on developing practical software tools for genomic analysis and biological discovery. I am particularly interested in computational approaches for comparative genomics, machine learning applications in biology, high-performance computing, scientific software development, and AI-assisted research workflows.

Current research interests include:

  • Computational science for biological applications
  • Artificial intelligence for biology
  • Comparative genomics
  • Scientific machine learning
  • Large language models for scientific research
  • Foundation models for biology
  • High-performance computing
  • Reproducible computational pipelines
  • Scientific software and workflow development

Background

I discovered computational biology during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the field was rapidly evolving and creating exciting opportunities at the intersection of biology, data science, and artificial intelligence. Entering the field during this period provided a unique opportunity to learn alongside many of the emerging technologies that are now transforming biological research.

That experience sparked my interest in exploring how AI can accelerate scientific discovery and improve the way researchers analyze increasingly complex biological data. I am especially excited by the rapid pace of innovation in both computational biology and artificial intelligence and the opportunities created where these disciplines overlap.

Looking ahead, I hope to pursue a career as an industry researcher while remaining open to opportunities that bridge academic research and real-world scientific applications.

Beyond Research

Outside of research, I enjoy traveling, exploring new technologies, interior design, and learning about emerging applications of artificial intelligence. I enjoy building creative projects that combine scientific computing with intuitive user experiences and believe that thoughtful software design can make advanced computational tools more accessible to researchers.
